Adjusting clutch ratchet on escort van

As above just need to adjust the pedal a bit as it quite low, are they a pain to adjust? i know it can be a grim job if they break.

how old?
if its a mk6 escort, there should be an allen bolt on the clutch pedal.
adjust it so that the clutch pedal is the same height as the brake pedal.

Hope its not an old one, self adjusting and a proper pain to replace.... my back still aint right after a couple of hours stuck in the footwell.
