Default Clio headlights not working

Hi all

A friend's wife has got a 53 plate 1.4 clio. The headlights on it don't work (its got xenons, auto lights etc). Is there anything common on them that fail? I am pretty certain its the switch as that is the only place that the 2 circuits meet isnt it, as they use seperate relays etc for each headlight?

One of the xenon bulbs was replaced about 6 months ago, but I think its highly unlikely that 2 xenon bulbs would have failed at the same time, especially one being so new? Sidelights/rear lights/foglights all work fine.

Going over on saturday to have a look at it, so would be handy to go over armed with some ammo!

Cheers

Rich

Right, been to look at it today. There is only 3v at the headlights regardless of weather the light switch is switched on or not. Have tried disabling the auto lights and using them manually but that makes no difference. I have wired the headlamps straight to the battery and they work fine.

I've tried a continuity test on the switch, there is continuity through 2 pins at the switch when its turned on. All fuses checked. I however can't find the relays. There is an engine bay relay box, but I don't think its here. I can hear a clicking coming from under the passenger side of the dash when the sidelights are turned on, which i presume is a relay, but I can't find the relays anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreicated!

Thanks
