Nice work Simon, I have some basic EPROM loader software that I made for std L6, L8 ecu chips that I think is of very limited value compared to what I think youve done on that side. I will monitor the thread to see when your software does and see if I can enhance it in any way (I expect not)

very interesting stuff Simon. How about some hardware info as well? I recall a post of yours a few years ago where you said that you may consider a mod to allow driving sequential COP ignition. I've played around with idea myself a little using a decade counter driven from the VR sensors and ecu pin 25 but got bogged down with dwell control. Any info on this would be very useful.

Simon posted
SECTION 1 - CONNECTION TO THE ECU

*** TO BE COMPLETED ***
I need to convert a drawing file to a .jpg file so that I can show how to build an interface.
(By the weekend hopefully)

Data is transmitted out of the ECU on pin 27 and data is received on pin 8.
The interface to the ECU is at 12 volts - You cannot directly connect a PC RS232 serial port otherwise you may damage your ECU.
You need a voltage translation circuit.
This consists of a few transistor, resistors and diodes.
The data idle state for both transmit and receive lines is 0 volts.
The ECU transmit output on pin 27 is an open collector NPN transistor interface and needs an external pull up resistor to 12 volts.
Similaly, the ECU receive input has an internal pull up resistor and needs to be driven by an external open collector NPN transistor.

Has anyone got a circut design for the ECU interface so that I can get some data to my PC ?

Justin

Hi all,

I didnt want to comment on here but it has been made clear that my information isnt welcome on this site as was the case of my 100% FREE software project too.

Also, I did not come on the site for several months for personal reasons.

This project is not dead and is near completion but I will not post anything more on here as it is clear I will be banned or given infractions for attempted trading even though the admin are fully aware I am no longer a trader and wll never ask for any reward for the information or software relating to it.

I hope this explains things and I am sorry to those who are genuinely interested but this webite is now classed as a "business" and not an enthusaist site as described.

Simon - is there any way you could publish enough info (even a PM would be great) to enable a black box to be made that'd allow a Race Technology dash interface (see here :http://www.race-technology.com/ecu_i...es_2_7533.html ) to talk to a L8? Pretty please ?

As I have a bit of spare time on my hands at the moment due to unemployment, I have restarted all this on another website which should be live by the weekend.

Keep an eye out

Ive a good mind to ban you for your lying, but seeing as a mod has kindly posted up links for all to see we agreed you can do it, I will leave you here to publically backtrack and look foolish as per usual. For a very clever man, your very dissapointing.

Stu,
With total respect I have not lied at all

However, I am sure discussing this here (even within the rules) would only serve a wholy one sided argument being that you have the power to press the ban button at any time you dont like what is said.

I was sent a message by a moderator that he considered this thread to be underhand trading and that I should "be carefull" what I say here.

During my recent ban, my PM inbox has mysteriously been erased
Now, as I no longer have this message, it would only be my word against that person so is pointless discussing it as you would naturally take that persons side anyway. !

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, If you saying here and now you have absolutely no objection to me giving all this information away free as well as **free software** at the end ?

If yes, Then I will applogise for missunderstanding the warning(s) and perhaps you need to make sure the whole admin team know this.

If no, then please state your objections for discussion !!!

If you dont want to discuss this then nothing really has changed !

**FREE software
I.E. I will never ask for any kind of reward or monetary value for anything relating to this.

This is the executable file and not the source code.
This shouldnt be a problem as for example, Microsoft give Internet Explorer away for free use without source code.

The source code is my hard work that I wish to retain control of so that it cannot be missused in a comercial enviorment for example.
Also, by retaining source control I can give a limited guarantee that the software works ok and will not cause engine damage or computer problems..etc...
(someone could recompile it with malicious intent for example)

Having said this, there will be enough information to allow any competant programmer to write their own software if needed at their own risk.

Same old shit from Simon as normal, promises the earth and delivers fuck all.

I have no idea why you give him as much slack as you do TBH Stu!

In here you specifically stated you would be giving the sourcecode away (you said you would publish under the GNU agreement)
http://passionford.com/forum/general...e-project.html

and yet now you say you will give no code away at all and all you will give away is an executable file (which lets face it anyone with the slightest bit of fucking sense wouldnt accept from someone as untrustworthy as you! you may as well call the download "trojan.exe") because you want to protect your inteletual property rights, something that you explicitly promised wasnt the case as leverage to get Stu to let you on here.

As usual, you are a lieing cunt, everyone seems to be able to see it except for you Simon, you really do seem to have an amazing ability to completely ignore the facts when evaluating wether you are honest or not!

As always mate!

Its very frustrating, as Simon has the potential to offer a lot to this forum if he actually wanted to.

But unlike the rest of us he doesnt seem willing to just stick to some basic decent values like honesty and trustworthiness.

If you arent going to do something that is fine, but dont make promises that you are going to and then not do it!
