my test was on the wap site which takes 2 seconds a page to load. I'm not sure how to load the full site as it automatically re-routes to the wap site.

One of mine and many others grumbles, some mobiles can only view this site in mobile form

Okay this is to all the current owners how long is your battery lasting…and how long does it take to charge…

Either im seriously loosing the plot or my phone has shit battry life..

Pas two night I have charged the phone for about 4 hours of the top of my head, and last night until the small white light stopped flashing by the charger.
Then this morning…..

I watch 10mins of I player send around 10 texts and probably flick the screen on 3 times to check in on FB.

Er now im showing 1bar of battery left!!!!!!

Is your phone running the lastest firmware? and as someone else said you will get the best battery life if your running NONE branded firmware, i.e NOT the software that the phone company stick on it

luke mine lasts 2 days and im using the latest firmware update from vodafone and ive been using the phone constantly as im bored and in pain

i had the normal n95 and it was awful, in the end i threw it at the wall in temper. and when i rang t mobile to upgrade to the n96 i was told not to bother go for somethin else cus they had had so many sent back they couldnt keep up, they where rubbish, and i know they were'nt lying cus they could have taken money off me but they chose not too. so i wouldnt go for it mate

can you drag & drop music/pics etc from the computer to the phone & vice versa or have you got to use i tunes? i got a ipod classic & i hate it. i tunes sucks big time. enough to put me off every buying anything apple again

a quick note to anyone on this thread thinking about 'making do' with a n96........ DON'T DO IT!!! I 'downgraded' from my n95 8gb 6 months ago for the 96 and promise you its the biggest load of wank going. so so ssoooo slow. you feel like throwing the bloody thing against a wall. ( have several mates with 96's too who all have the same problems ).

Roll on the 97 for me!

Upgrade your firmware mate, it will fix all those problems and many more. That phone was a slag of a thing when it first came out!

just got my N97 today . ive stuck it on charge for the night and will be having a play with it tommorrow .

a few questions cos im using a C902 at the mo and can play on the internet and use facebook etc but all are moby versions and no wifi .

is it best to get the N97 to always search for a wifi connection so i get a better internet speed ?

how did you i-player ? do you just go to bbc.co.uk etc and go through that way ?

has it got "apps" you can download for it etc or is that just the I-phone?

is there any tricks and cool things it can do that i need to know or download etc?

i just want to get the most out of the phone now ive got it so any answers or things to do would be great . i havet even switched it on yet . can wait.

Ive got the n95 8gb, but being basically the same phones i can tell you that what i do to get on the internet is search for wifi, and when it picks up my router i just make it always connect via this, so when i went to browse the net i simply press and hold the 0 key which brings up my list of bookmarks, then select one and it will automatically connect to my home router and load up the site, in exactly the same way your pc would(providing the site isnt forced to use the mobile versions like this site is)
Apps? yeah of course, if you want to find more info wait for someone who owns one or just do a google search because im not sure if the n97 handles apps the same way the n95 8gb does.

Most apps are installed as standard, including the BBC i player.

Yes, get it installed on your wireless network then tell it to ask you on conection, then you get the choice. job done.

Good news, go get it now mate as the new batteries have a 2 hour charge time and last days.
