What would you change about the new FRS ??
After seeing the new FRS today with my bro at the autosport show we both werent very impressed as it doesnt look anythin really RS special over a ST !!
So we came up with our little list of things we would change on the way home
Loose the twin pipes for a single centre exit or on side tail pipe.
OZ or Comp style rally wheels
AP or brembo brakes
WRC hoop rear spoiler with out the fins or current WRC focus
4wd
reduce the colour range down to 4 blue, green, white and black
What would you change about it ??

Colour Black, 4wd, AP brakes, the rest of the car is cool, The only thing I wouldnt change is the price if my list was met, Otherwise it costs to much.

I think it looks fantastic to be honest and a lot better than the ST model. I not worried if its fwd/rwd/4wd as long as it drives good. I will be asking my dealer for an extended test drive when they become available and then make an informed decision on whether to buy or not.
As for the car not being special enough, its no more special / less special than any other car for similar money. Lets face it, no ford is exactly special!

Nothing apart from 4wd maybe so that you could add more power better. I'm not going to be like others have been at times and expect 400bhp 4wd beast for Ł20k.
It's not a Cosworth and how many non cossie RS cars are 4wd? RS2000 maybe. I reckon it looks way better than the ST and decent as it is and at least it only comes in three colours.

4wd and an engine cosworth has had a hand in(yb for instance)
looks are spot on considering all new cars are so round shaped.and shud b really limited in numbers to make it an eventual legend like the rs 500

the only thing id change to be honest is to put the 4wd system on it but the set up they have cant be shit as no doubt its been tested and tested before final production begins.
i think alot of people have been set in their mind due to past models but times change to be fair and imagine ford have some idea what they are doing.
regarding the price a friend of mine put a deposit on one and priced it up with all the toys he wanted.it came to about 24k
still think its gonna be a winner

Honest question,
I see many saying the Focus RS needs xyz, but if the spec was as you posted, how many people can walk in today and buy one should Ford offer the chance? Its surely not feasible to add all these items on and still make any sort of profit at the price mark of Ł25-Ł35k.

I don't care about anything else, but only being FWD has fucked the whole car IMHO... If it was RWD/4x4 to start with then at least you have a blank canvas to start from (much the same as the original cossies were sold at 200ish BHP but with HUGE potential)...
So a proper drivetrain would have been my priority, but there you go just got a modern day RS Turbo replacement

Agree with Wil and most others on here.
Save yourself a fortune....
Buy a cheap ST, fit a bigger turbo, remap and exhaust , fit some bigger brakes. I am sure some one will produce replica body kits too.
Hey presto.... You have the new RS at less than 1/3 the price

But it would still be a lame ass ST with a bigger Turbo
Personally I got no beef with Ford for making it FWD. I'm not being biased, but look at what the competition was for the MK1 Focus RS...the Impreza. Countless tests proved which was the fastest round a track and with impressive times. The fact it was done by a FWD is just pure comedy, hasn't got the right to do what it did.
Now the MK2 Focus RS will have a more impressive suspension spec, which should do away with the minor issues the first one had.
Wait until someone gets to drive it in March, then give a valid opinion. Personally, I'd just change the brakes because that area seems to be the only part not focused on much i.e. FWD - so ATB diff fitted etc.

The trouble is FWD is just nowhere near as much FUN to drive as RWD/4x4... it will always be the limiting factor of the car. How many serious performance/drivers cars have been FWD?
NONE!!! (que the flaming from irate FRS/integra owners!)
