Default Mondeo Blacktop Carb Conversion..

Allo all,

Apologies if there are other posts on this, got a 1999 1.8 lx 16v Mondeo (blacktop).

Rather than tuning an ST24 to match the other half's 1998 GSI Vectra!!!!!

I thought about a 4 pot project!!!!!!

Any suggestions welcome, obviously less expense the better

Cheers
Dan

What do you need to know? You buy a manifold, carbs, suitable fuel pump, and you're done.

Forget it on a 1.8, don't waste your money and time, you would beta him on tb's with decent ecu properly mapped, even a TR6 Triumph yesterday made 152bhp on the old six cylinder engine just converting to fi.
Tb's are less expensive than some think.

And generally not optimised without a decent exhaust, ehxhaust manifold, cams etc...AND you nearly always need a new ECU then a mapping session, and unless the mapper is a very good one it never drives like OEM, ie hot start/Cold Start, Cold Idle etc

Cheap to bodge tho

it'll certianly be doable, but relisticly for the time and cost involved not worth the hassle.

check out kit car forums for zetec tuning.

I know that's why the first thing I did was ditch the shit cossie ecu, so have perfection now, and loads more mpg.
