Im with Virgin at moment but got a letter through the door a few weeks back about a new thing being introduced in UK but Dundee being first city in Scotland to recieve the services meaning anything over 100MB's is achievable

they can roll out what they like but when you get throttled between 10AM and 10PM then whats the point anyway... I have just cancelled mine right down as your can only use the full speed over night! drop 5 gig durring the day (1 DVD 5gb 25min download) then my bandwidth was dropped to 2 meg. 100 meg line will simply mean i will be thorttled earlier!

virgin now also do from 10am to 3pm matey too, they kept it quiet though! shocking i wouldn't mind if it was 50GB a month or something. I dont use it a great deal then 1 day download something and bang down to 2 meg its a joke.

virgin media attention hype again. really nothing to get excited about reading that.
they can pump multiple gigabits to your home if they wanted to its hardly groundbreaking technology, its just all cost dependant on what they offer the consumer.
they just decided to try and show up bt after it told everyone about their fibre to cabinet rollout plan (which is what virgin already have, fibre to cabinet)

The fibre is there for Virgin to do 1gig to the desktop, but it would cost on upgrades on routers and untill there is a need for it they will not provide it.
