Default Resetting Mk3 Golf service indicator

My missus 1998 Mk3 Golf GTi 8v has In01 up on the odomter. I asked on Club GTi and got a list of things to do which I followed but the grand total of fuck all happened when I tried.

Anybody know or is it another job for VAG com

I done it on my MK4 golf it was a sequence of ignition and indicator if i remember right.....il search the net...it'l gimme sommat to do LOL

You can do it on the clocks.........

Can't remember which way round it it, 1 button sticks out the other is flush(2 buttons) yeah?

Ignition off, press and hold the sticky out button, ignition on, then release and press and hold the flush button(both buttons at the same time). Igntion off and back on it should be done.
If it then flashes up OIL do the same again but when releasing the sticky out button press it once more to toggle onto OIL then press and hold the flush button to reset.

Ignition off
Press and hold trip button (left)
Ignition on
ignition off
Release button.

Get a pen
Press lower button on right hand side for 3-5 seconds until display says " - - - - "
Release button
Press Trip button (left) until it says the type of service you've done Oel -> 01 -> 02 (Oil, small, large)
Press lower button on right hand side for another 3-5 seconds until it says " - - - - "
Release button
Ignition on
Display should flick to "00"
Igntion off
