Default Can I by-pass a vauxhall immobiliser

Hi i have just bought a 1996 frontera which i've been told needs the key re-programming to the car, is it possible to do with out any computer's etc, or is there a way i can by-pass it,

He said he had it done 6 month's ago but because the car hasn't been use and the batterys gone flat it needs doing again, Is this true i didn't think this should happen, unless there is a fault on the system.

I don't want to spend much money on it cause its only a £150 car and it was ment to be a runner.

thanks for looking will be gratefull of any help.

steve.

Sorry forgot to put it's a 2.0 sport (petrol) and it's a 1997/8 not 1996,

Coming up with incorrect signal to immbo on the code reader, and it seem's to be cutting out the coil cause it will start and run for 2 sec's then stop, checked and it has a spark for them seconds and then not spark.

you could allways send it to vauxhall to be recoded, ive recovered a few cars there over the years, porviding you have the code its quick and easy, if you dont you will have to apply to vauxhall for it first, we have had new keys etc recoded there for 40 odd quid in past
