should rear coilover springs be harder or softer than fronts?

depends on the car doesn't it?
usually is softer at det back with 2wd and 4wd, but fwd usually has stiffer springs at the back.
i'm running 550 lbs at the front, and 350 lbs at the rear on my trackday 2wd sapphire. gaz gold coilovers. well pleased with that setup.

if you have rwd and want to break traction easily(drifting) make them harder at the back.
if you have rwd or 4wd and want to do good drag launches without wheelspin make them softer at the back, to push more weight on the back wheels.
for a good handling rwd/4wd car have the backs a small bit softer than the front
just my experiences with setups

If the back is to soft, then on power, exiting a corner it will generate understeer, etc etc

Running 350/450 split on my erst on advice from a reputable source......would hardly say it's a 'nice' ride on the road tbh but then it's on track where i want the car to handle so it's not a concern! Haven't had the chance to try em yet on track so can't confirm how the car handles.
