Default Silverstone F1 2009?

I fancy going next year.

Never been to Silverstone before. I was looking on the website and its £250 per ticket for the pit straight.

Anyone been for the F1?
Is it work the money for a seat next to the grid?
any advise?

cheers

I've got my tickets already. and had them for a while, got three day tickets and pit passes. The straight is shit imho apart from the start, you may as well sit on the M25 to see cars whoosh pass you.
Get a decent braking area so you can hear the power and see the cars under load and acceleration imho its the only way to see a F1 car.. If you want power and speed in a straight line go and watch top fuel dragsters as they are a lot more impressive

i went ealryer this year for my birthday and had grandstand tickets for stowe

imho i thought it was one of the best places on the track we watched the qualifiying from the pit straight you cannot see the cars in the pits and all they do is wiz past so a little boreing tbh

but at stowe we could see hanger straight and 2 corners it was fantastic

Going to British Grand Prix is a bit wank in my opinion....

far better to watch on Tv to be honest... and you haven't got the hassle of getting home.

I thought that myself Lee until this year when i went for the 1st time!

I personally had a fookin GREAT day out (albeit with VIP hospitality courtesy of one of our suppliers ) at Vale.

I will deffo go again, and wouldnt NEED the VIP bit to have a good time IMO....

I would sit somewhere at the end of Hangar straight so you can see them steam into Stowe and then do Vale and into Club

Only my opinion though (although i do agree about the hassle of getting home )

totally dissagree

the atmosphese is worth the hassle if nothing else !!

they have massive screens so you dont miss anything, and they ahve a thing called kangroo TV, this is a little hand held tv unit that can be put on with split timing so you have all the sector times or you can have it with cometry.

me and su had a ear piece each so we were about to hear comentry and see what was going on infront of us.

and it was awesome

Ive been to the GP 7 times now, and a vantage point on the start finish straight, or the hangar straight is NOT a good place to be. Apart from anything it gets too loud toward the end of the race.

Probably the best place to be is in the luffield complex, or at beckets corner.

Also, dont bother fannying around with grandstand seats, go for the bronze general admission with terrace seat for race day, its a hell of a lot cheaper and you get to rove your way around the track all weekend, sitting wherever you want. IMO the grandstands are too far away from the circuit anyway.

Il be going just for race day

As said the pit straight is boring after the start and the best place ive watched from is the end of the hanger straight. I only had a bronze ticket but we were right next to the track and the sensation of 20 cars doing 190mph nose to tail on the first lap is just awesome Its also one of the best places for overtaking on the track
