Default track cars are ready for croft tomorrow

Been down the unit all day today with andy (northernbloke) the owner of tigger (the white one!) prepping the track cars lots of us from the cleveland and north yorks rsoc are on track at croft tommorow.

andys car was treated to disks and pads all round along with new 888's, he as always used budget tyres in the past so this will be a real treat for him to have some propper sticky tyres.
mine didn't need much, just changed the springs on the front coilovers as the ones I had on were too long, I also fixed a slight leak on the exhaust.
so roll on tomorrow and lets hope it stays dry and problem free..

a couple of pics after all the work was done and before we loaded the trailer up

You'll love the R888s and then KICK yourself for using cheap tyres on track - honestly they are AMAZING!

alex, i'm on full michelin slicks and have been for a while, my wet tyres are crap road tyres tho, it's my m8 who will be on 888's for the first time, I reckon he will be amazed at the difference!

I certainly does dave, I did one session in the rain at croft last year in my escort and when I got back to the pits I was seeing stars and had to sit down in the pits till I sorted my self out lol
having to opposite lock every corner took too much out of me!!

was very wet tho in that session as the pic below proves!!!

Was a fantastic day, shame about the rain in the morning , but could not belive how fast the track dried out

Car survived yet another brutal attack and done me proud , just need the tracking adjusting now

Think the only casualties were, jacko's missfire , Steves CONSTANT ablitterating of the N/S/F tyre and my tracking / wheel.

Fantastic, roll on the next one

Bri.

great day, as said the weather was dodgy in the morning and quickly changed, ended up being caught out on slicks on a wet track resulting in a huge off and the jim clark S's car spun onto the grass and just wouldn't stop!
later in the day on my wet tyres I lost it through barcroft and spun nearly collecting the tyre wall! (vid from rob in the car behind soon to be posted)

all in all a very good day

Was good fun. I broke the RS2000 on the 2nd lap of my first time out. The gear stick fell through the floor so I couldnt change gears and had to pit to fix it and then got back out and only got a couple of laps in before the end of the session

Then Jacko fucked it later on and left it only running on 3 pots. So Lawnsy nipped down to see if we could run another car instead, they said yes so he went and got his lasses car out the car park, a 4 motion Golf, emptied the kids seats off the back seat and we used that instead. After the last session I came in and we noticed the n/s/f tyre was ruined. Bits of tread were missing, showing wires, and the writing had been scrubbed off the sidewall Of course I got the blame for it too, nothing to do with the previous murdering it had round the track.

Now Im tempted to build the Vauxhall XE engine thats in a cupboard in my garage and find a home for it in a track car of some description

Was a canny day, shame the weather was abit off. Deffo need to brush up on my camera skills and bring the Evo down for a bit track action sometime.

All the cars seemed to go well round track too, and thankfully no real disasters.

Ye it was pissing out over the front of my car !!!

Had a good day driving steady around the circuit Got loads of video, just gettting it put together (the youths off )
Got packed up and went to get a photo cd off the photographers. "Are you were the one having fun" even got a discount off them big up to Xtreme Sports Photography
While the disc was being done i spotted an instructor that i'd been on a trackday course with. Said LO and got asked what i had been driving. I fessed up "You were the one drifting"
The bloke from Javelin didn't look too impressed. But i didn't get black flagged so can't have had issue with it After the track was wet at some piont.

It shit myself big time, though it was going to end up through the infield. Should have just drove over the dam thing. Nice for the marshall to just stand watching the cars and not putting the fooking flag up

I have to say you're dead right Alex - should have put em on long ago, totally transformed the car. Even during the one damp/wet session I had great fun on em - lapped Rob and put half a lap again into him as he had no rear grip whatsoever

Enjoyed my session out with you as well Sarah - you were going well

Got some cracking video of you Rob but I won't be able to put it up until I get back home later in the week
