Default Skoda Octavia door card advice - or anyone with some guesses!!!

My neighbour has a Skoda Octavia VRS on a 54 plate. Nice car indeed.

His driver's side electric window is playing up. Basically the glass doesn't drop down when pressing the window switch, but behind the door card it sounds like the motor / linkage is moving and working. I'm guessing at the window coming out of the runner, or getting stuck somewhere.

Anyway, the gent can't get the door card off. He told me he removed all the screws he could find (down the side, under the door card, behind a speaker grill etc) but it's stuck on firm. He's reassembled it since so I haven't seen how much or little he did do.

Does anyone know where all the screws are? I wonder if the electric window panel / grab handle has some hidden behind it.

Anyone ever removed one and can tell me roughly where all the screws / bolts and clips are?

Si

My dad had the same problem on his T plate one, the cables had jammed in the mechanism. I don't know if the door panels have changed but you have to lever the back off the door handle pull. Took me ages to figure out.

That's what I thought when I looked at it and he pointed out the screws he'd removed.

The handle is combined with the 4 leccy window switches. All seems tight and couldn't see a way to pry apart without buggering his tidy car so didn't try it. It does look to be 2 pieces though, and like you I wonder if part of it unclips, revealing something like 2 large screws or bolts holding the card on.

Maybe I should attack with a screwdriver and see?

Thanks Ollie - anyone else confirm his suspicions before I do bugger the handle with a sodding great screwdriver?

cant remember exactly for the rear doors but think the door handle does split in half there is a hole underneith to get a screw driver in and prise it off. but they are very very tight so be careful not to scratch the handle then there is 2 or 3 screws behind the handle also tell him to buy some door trim clips cause they always break and to seal the plastic inside the door properly or it WILL leak in water. hope this helps.

if i remember correct on the back of the pull handle there is a bit of trim that comes out towards the door(away from car)then the switch box should lift up and unclip and i think there is 2 screws behind the switches,im not 100% certain unless you can get a pic of the door card then i will be able to tell you for sure where the screws are

Yep pull the switches out there fairly tight. Then the back half of the handle comes off by sliding it towards the lock side. Theres a torx bolt behinde the tweeter/electric mirror adjuster and there may be sum torx bolts along the very bottom off the door. Then a good old yank.

I'll ask at work what goes wrong with them as i've forgot. The guy knows skodas inside out worked on them for years
