Hi

As the fluid is red, it's quite likely to be an ATF, but there are normal gear oils that are coloured.

I would use an MTF for the gearbox and the best proven options are the Red Line MTL, Amsoil MTF or Fuchs Sintofluid. The Millers TRX 75w-80 and Motul Motylgear are good alternatives.

Depending on the diff fitted, you might need to add some friction modifier.

Hi Chris

This is ideal for the running in.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-60229-mi...ng-in-oil.aspx

While it's running in, get an idea of the oil temp if possible as that will give me a basis for the normal oil choice.

Cheers

Hi

Just pm'ed you about the gear oil.

I would say a good 5w-40 would probably be the way to go, unless you are getting high (over 125C) oil temps, then a 10w-50 is the best choice.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w-50.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS Nanodrive, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition.

Cheers

Hi

We don't deal with them, so can't say too much, but we did have some of their oils tested and found high sulphur levels in a few. While that's not really an issue in a race car, which has very regular oil changes, it could lead to corrosion in a road car where the oil stays in for longer.

Cheers

Hi

You need an oil that meets the Ford 913C or 913D specification.

https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-694-ford-engine-oil.aspx

They are all fine for normal use in your car.

Cheers
