ive bought a xr2 turbo track car for this year to pee about in but bodywork is all lighly scratch silver and not much cop. i want to just go over it with some paint (dont was a proper job) i can do it i have a big compressor and a half desent gun.
i want it to be as budget as possible what paint can i use its going to be sprayed in a unit but not a oven.
my mate has some dark grey enamel 8 litres of it but its a good colour and he said i can have it foc cani use this through a gun? what other alternatives have i got ive looked on ebay and there is all sorts of paints dont know were to start

its goto be a dark colour do i need primer first if so what type etc
any good website on spraying tips

Easiest is to use cellulose primer, 2k polyester base coat and 1-pack lacquer. You can get a very reasonable finish using these materials. All safe to use with a paper mask.

Remember the preparation decides the end result. And make sure the compressor is free of any water in the tank and regulator.

as much as it needs to flow out of the gun i dont no
when i used to banger race all cars were painted with gloss mixed with petrol thinners what ever we had lyin roung at the time

yes primer repairs

plz test on old piece first the gloss used to shine well 5liters of synthetic of ebay is about 30 odd quid

my mate used woolworth gloss paint on his banger and he swears by it
