Default wasted spark or group a coil?

i am consdering replacing my standard ford coil with either of the above.

i dont have any misfire issues at the minute, but dont see any harm in upgrading.

just wondering what the advantages are of the wasted spark over the group a coil.

cars a stage 3, should it need a group a coil at the minute?

just wondering what peoples opinions are of the kit, as theres alot of difference between 30 quid and 300.

ive had a gpa coil on my three door for ages and its never missed a beat running 365bhp.....
however ive took it off now and replaced it with a wasted spark setup...havent tried it yet though cars being painted.....there was no reason at all why i needed a coilpack conversion just to pose i suppose!!!

Group A coil should cope fine at that level, slightly more maintainance than a wasted spark setup though of course.

so i should go for a group a coil for mine anyway?

is it just a case, of changing the connectors and plugging it in?

wasted spark would be good, but just unsure as to wether the costs are justified (at the minute, while i'm poor)

Group a coil is defo a good idea, I have one as well.
There are a lot of areas on the ignition side of cossies that are crap but the coil is defo weedy so good start.
Yes it is just a case of the connectors need to be changed, the + and - marks are buried between the twin terminals on each side, just in case you are hunting for them like I was!!
The bracket on the group a is slotted so fits straight on with no holes needing to be drilled.
Might as well check the phase sensor gap, and crank pos gap at same time, as well as wiring on the phase sensor inside the dizzy as this disintergrates and falls off.
They are also not unknown to pick up the top bush in the dizzy ands spin it in the housing, as mine did, but was a 335 fix and perfect with new BRONZE BUSH, much superior to the crap ford fitted, and cheaper than a s/h one at £70, which will also be worn!!
Phase sensor gap is 0.2mm - 0.3mm, crank senosr gap is 0.6mm - 1.0mm.
At your present power a coilpack is a lot of money for any questionable gain, if you have no spark problems, you don't need one.
