yes a bit dated now gus,but if your block has been machined to use one then you are a bit stuck, unless you buy a new block. i have seen cos engines running 800 bhp with liners and coopers ring gaskets so they can be made to take big power.

mountune said you should replace them, and given the design of the fire rings i would have to agree with them.

NOT really as you COULD easily have the block face refaced which would take out the groove that is needed when using this type of gasket!

and run a comp of 10 to 1,with a cam belt that doesnt fit,and valves that clatter the pistons, and a cam with low lift.

As far as I know, the one that navalinea sport sells doesn't need grooves in the block. The ring has flat face to the block and a sharp edge to the head, so the head needs to be skimmed quite much if the head has to be taken of and that's the bad thing about the gasket, but otherwise it does work very well.

I think you are talking about pyramid rings that is another kind om gasket solution.

They're not the best gasket type in the world of YB's, but your options are limited. Try Terry Drury, if he's still about.

I have a mountune wrc multisteel gasket now, but now the engins is rebuilt with new pistons etc so i looking for the best solution.
My block and head will be milled straight so maybe i stick with my wrc gasket one more time.

Edited because I confused posts!!

Emil, I run a WRC gasket and longstuds (WRC type), much better than Coopers gaskets - a few friends have had engines with them (already present) and they've all failed in some way.

doubt you could machine the block after a proper coopers ring gasket..

its not just a smalll ring in the top of the block

i can get you coopers rings head gasket and al in for 150 gbp theres nothing wrong with them they can handle big power its just we al use multilayer as its easier. let me know if you want one through pm.you can face of block as weve done this a few times before you have to take 60 thou of face and of course machine pistons to suit then bowl for your required cr but as said can be done without trouble.only the fake coopers rings are troublesome.julian godfrey still uses lots of coopers rings for rallycross etc i know this because iv personally handed over in excess of 100 sets and he thinks theyre great.
