Default Insurance advice needed please

Anyone had dealings with a supermarket delivery lorrys hitting their cars??

just had a safeway lorry hit my 3dr down passenger side!!

he was in wrong lane on a roundabout, i went up his inside and he cut across into me without indicating, i went onto grass verge but he hit me and then got car wedged onto trailer.

damage done is;
broken nearside front wheel
burst nearside front tyre
nearside wing
nearside front arch trim
nearside side repeater
nearside door
nearside quarter panel

Sorry to hear about your accident mate

But because of the age of your car it most probably
will get written off.

Do you have an agreed valuation of your car?

If you do at least you know what you will get if it does get written
off.

I was in a crash in november and my r5 gtt was written
off.

When an asseser (sp) came round he was very helpfull
he went through his glasses guide for a rough price on the
car.

But he also asked to see what the market prices were to
on autotrader etc.

In the end i got more money from the insueres than what i paid
for it in the first place

i'd say thats a total loss.

harsh as it also is there's no such thing as a wrong lane when ya driving a artic, britains roads simply weren't ever designed to have vehicles on them the size they are.

bad luck

The round about had 3 lanes he was in middle lane to go off next exit from lights, i was in right hand lane to go round to exit after, he cut across my path with no indication or looking in mirrors, which it states in road law "when changing lanes you must indicate and check mirrors prior to manoever" which he obviously didnt.

if you were already up the inside of the truck as he started to turn in then he more than likely couldn't even see you down there.

i think it should be made law that when you take a driving test you should have a couple of days out in a HGV, it'd make you see the roads and it's users in a whole different way!

as said before, unlucky but i hope the outcome isn't too bad and you get the car sorted
