Default Snap on or mac?

For the last 5-6 years ive been buying all my tools from
The mac rep that comes by work. Hes now stopped coming and a snap on rep has started popping in. Is there much difference in the quality of tools? Other than the price?

Ask the snap-on rep to loan you a snappy for a couple of weeks to try it.

Personally I've found snap-on are better tools but more expensive.

Slightly off topic to the thread but I've heard a few good things about Facom fairly recently (I hear their ratchets are excellent), got a couple (only a hacksaw and some pliers) and I'm a hobbyist but so far I cant complain. Could be worth a thought, they are cheaper than snap on.

I think Mac are astronomically expensive these days, when I started in the trade nearly 20 years ago mac was always a bit cheaper. We had a spell of about 7 years with no Mac dealer in the area, when we got one he had a face on due to all the warranty tools he got back, then when we didn't buy something every week he just stopped coming in again.

The prices on the flyers are ridiculous and also remember that life time guarantee is not worth shit if there is no fucker about to sort any issues.

Default Snap on or mac?

We've only just started getting mac again in our area since 1997 so bit of a novelty going on the van and having a look untill I got one of his flyers and he's more expensive than snap on, plus he could vanish at Any moment like the last guy so I'm not bothering. I rarely buy anything off snap on now apart from spanners and sockets etc, everything else I get through eBay. For example I asked last week how much an impact driver kit was, snap on said £118 plus vat. Went and got a kit off eBay for £8.50 including postage and works mint! Only something your gonna hit with a hammer after all!
