Back gardens been a mess since I moved here but never bothered spending money on it or any time as this was always my intentions. Got a 20T skip coming tomorrow to fill with the crap out the ground, concrete the bases Tuesday and then we should be flying along

dunno about up your way mate but down here you can get a grabber lorry in to take the lot for around 180 a load, much cheaper than skips

alwys great to see a new garage been built, can you answer a question for me on the foundation? what is the width and depth of it? its not looking like 3 times the width of the wall its supporting over here in ireland its a rule of thumb to do 3 times the width of the wall, so far agro sake a wall is 300mm/ 12" wide the founds would be roughly 900mm....im wanting to build a new garage myslef and would like to go the way you have your founds in....

for a garage 450 wide and 600 deep should be plenty but im not sure what building regs require. i dug down past my 1930's house footings a few years back and they were only 400 deep and 400 wide lol

The biggest problem was the fact it was red hot and the sun was on it, it was going off so quickly, the left side was high so dragging it all back over was hard work, before this we discovered we were half a cube short at 5pm so had to dash to the concrete yard and put a cube in my old mans trailer and come back, whilst he was out it was levelled, then shovelled in what we needed, but this left half a cube on his trailer that was setting quick so then the surplus was shovelled into the cavity to take the space up between the bottom 2 blocks.

i was goosed!

if i ever need concrete doing i pay someone to use shovels and stuff

that's one fuck load of a lot of work and agree that you would have been better paying for a pump truck to sort it out

but at least you've got the weekend to relax now and hope no animals walk over in in the middle of the night

Andy,
you have forgotten to put a drain in under where the engines sit to stop all the oil dropping on the floor
