Just bought a limited edition satin black/Orange drawers Mac tools box today, was between that and Snap on KRL but Mac felt a better made box and was a bit smarter looking than the KRL.

What do we think, Mac or Snap on?

Will stick pics up once I get it.

I've got a krl, bought it as it seems to be the only snap on box that's still made in America. Seems a good box had it 2 years now. I'm worried about buying anything off mac tools as we've had 2 mac tools men disappear over the last 20 years I've been on the job and some work colleagues have struggled. Sound like a nice new box u have there mate wouldn't mind seeing a picture here's my box

Nice box, the KRL's are massive as it is without the top too!!

Yea well this is the first garage I've had a mac man but he's here every week and seems a sound chap! I always feel robbed with Snap on but do preffer their tools over Mac.

This Mac box is same size as a KRL, picking it up tomorrow after work but have one pic.

Think i'll get a stainless top for it.

Pretty sure they're made in Canada, as Snap On boxes have been since at least the 70's

Mine has made in America on the back but all the other boxes I've seen these days have made in Canada on the back. I ordered the krl as I'm told there the only ones still made in America

I did not know that. Never seen "made in America" on one, only Canada.

Begs the question though, why order it because it's the only one made in America? I mean, I can understand the Yanks doing that because most of them are so patriotic, but why is it important to you?

It says America and then underneath I think it says Ohio but I'll have to check. Reason being that I'm told there farming production out to "other" companies under the licence of snap on. I'm told The krl is the only one that's still made by snap on themselves, hence the large price tag. It's potentially gotta last me another 30 years and it's used all day long 9 hours a day so I wanted something that will last me the rest of my career. I'll never be able to afford to get another one so bought it just before we started our little family

Cheers! Finally got it to my work and flung my tools in , needs sorting out big time on Monday! don't know where to start

Yea our Snap on guy is newish but he turns up at 4:55 on a Friday when everyone's bursting to get home, thats IF he turns up at all...
Mac guy comes on Thurs, seem really helpful and knows his stuff and is there every week. Thinking of ordering a stainless top as the wooden butchers block tends to get dirty/dented over time and looks grubby.
