Default xr3i annoying rattle from engine bay

ive recently acquired a mk3 xr3i cabby and have been doing a bit of tidying on it and usual oil filter and plugs change but i have now got an annoying intermitant rattle from the engine bay

on pressing the clutch down it stops

is this a clutch or gearbox problem and is it terminal?

im not very techy with cars so any help apriciated

Mine does this too! However mine is running a racing clutch and has always done it, when was the last time it had a clutch? Where is the biting point? Any problems getting it into gear etc?

unfortunately i have no idea when the clutch was last changed

the bite is right at the top of letting the pedal out

and no problems at all with selecting gears

Release bearing mate...
Nothing to worry about... Get the most use out of the clutch, when it dies, replace the lot...
