1.3 escort van to xr3i engine, the difficulties?
I am soon to be purchasing a 1.3 van on a carburettor system, the plan is to remove this lump and replace it with the 1.6 cvh lump (fuel injected) im guessing putting a manual fuel injection engine would be easiest? Correct me if im wrong, what i want to know is what an i going to need to accomplish this and how hard is wiring the engine in going to be?

Manual fuel injection? You mean K-Jetronic (mechanical fuel injection)?
Get a donor car, easiest way. You'll also have to replace the fuel tank with an injected one (with reservoir inside) and the fuel hoses (steel lines will be fine) with high pressure ones.
Wiring is easy. Just a handful of cables, most earth and ignition+. You could also waive the diode block and the fuel stabilization valve. Just rises the idle speed a little bit when fan, heated rear window are turned on.

instead of injection where your going to have to put swirlpot in tank and that which would be the same as converting it to run a turbo use a zetec engine on bike carbs and fuelpump off a motorbike an esc or edis4 for the spark side

I can check later or tomorrow if the van had a different fuel tank than the standard hatchback/estate/convertible.

Fuel tanks were different van/non-van.
There was a CFI tank available for the van but I can't tell you if it's for internal or external fuel pump.
Might be much easier to use a second fuel pump and a catch-tank-setup. This was used standard in Golf (I believe both 1 and 2) GTI MFI. Should look like this:

You could also buy an aftermarket/motorsport catch-tank.
