Anyone else have the problem of when you shut the doors with the windows to the top, the glass dosnt sit inside the roof rubber it just sits on top leaving a gap?

I was going to trim the rubber slightly so it sits in nice so it dosnt leak!

Any other ideas?

You shut the door by the top of the window mate, problem solved.

Yeah i have been doing that but have smashed my drivers window when i was abit rough with it one night.

It would just be nice to be able to shut the doors normally especially when you have a passenger

Its a mk4 xr3i. The corner sits alot higher then the front. If i could just drop the corner down by half inch it would shut perfectly!

i always wanted to go down the route of retro fitting a system off a bmw z4 or another car that drops the window an inch when door open then puts it back up when doors closed. sure it could be possible and would sort all the mk4 cab issues.

my alarm does it for me now, full closure leave the window down a bit, arm the alarm and voila job done
otherwise Ford recommend the window shut method

Ok here you go, picture one below door with door cards removed. Areas 1 and 2 are where you need to look to do the adjusting.

picture 2 below
First to sort out the tilt, which you said you had issues with and also you will need to do this first anyway to get a good fit on the rubber. loosen nuts pointed out number 1, then slide the nut up or down in the slot pointed out number 2. that will sort out the tilt. when you get a level glass tighten them.
you may have to make the slot longer depending how good the runners are just file or brevvel it out a bit.

picture 3 below
now the glass is level, loosen the bolt number 1, wind the window up to your desired height against the rubber top seal, then again slide the nut in the slot just visable in directions numbered 2 . it basicly a stop for the winder arm if you reach around the back you will be able to feel where it sits on the winder arm, then tighten it. and thats all thier is too it (well its a bit of as mess around adjusting etc but worth it)

i have done mine they are level the door shuts sweet without having to push in the glass at the top which i did for years on my other cab and they DON'T leak
I have to agree with del though if ford had done a slight door drop on opening it would have been nice but they didn't
