Went in the body shop on monday

well had a nitemare last couple of weeks shes in the body shop just about to start getting her in primer then one nite they had a fire insurance wanted to write her off!!!!!!

ok so got a little time n wife is at work so here's "luckys" story so far & some pics

she is a 1 elderly/deceased owner ,85,000mile with original bill of sale ,etc. last on the road 2002 when the lady owner past away. her husbnd covered her over on the drive until 2006 she had never been touched.

In 2006 he had decided to scrap her after he couldn't start her up. during that time water had got in the rear lights & started to rot the boot floor backs of arches etc. The guy that lived opposite had pestered for years to buy it. Because the ladies husband couldn't do anything with it knocked on the door threw him the keys " it knackered want it gone by sunday nite its urs"

New battery one , gallon of fresh petrol still wouldn't start fuel pump had siezed ,couple of knocks with a hammer tried again she fired up. drove it round the block then put it in his garage where he started the restoration job.

jump forward to august 2010 . looking for bits for my other cab, found her on ebay. regonnised to area sent a email only in the next street. The guy that had her had to give up working on cars due to medical reasons so i brought her.









in her new home.

so then started the stripping & gathering of bits to see how bad she was.

Usual bad spots are mint fuse box, battery , floors etc. so deffo worth saving

both front inners neede a little work

petrol filler neck was the fun bit inner was rotten but outer ok so got a 2nd had 1 & removed from the inside then put the 2nd hand 1 on been hard graft but worth while



















also removed the spare wheel tub which helped getting into filler neck. got a 2nd handone of them aswell

next was the arches






got this cut down saloon rear quarter from ford fair Ł22 bargin saved me from removing the full arch

new petrol tank fitted



new fuel pump had 4 yrs but believe it or not has a hole in the casing so needs changing

now i've called her "lucky" for a reason original owner was gonna scrap her, ive saved her n while in the body shop they had a fire 6 cars written off due to fire n smoke damage.

That'd West Swindon & I'd totally forgotten we have an ice rink. It's a bit more lively out there. The town centre itself has fallen to wrack and ruin. Glad you liked it though
