XR3i runnig problem / rev's
Hi All,
Got a little problem with my mk4 cab, the engine starts first turn of the key, ticks over nice, but soon as you give it any rev's it sounds like a bag of s*it, It back fires in air chamber and coughs spit's and farts, stop reving and ticks over nicely. so any idea's (could it be a sticking valve or tappet or just needs a good tune and timing setup)????
Cheers for any help

Check/clean plugs and leads. Inspect rotor arm and dizzy cap. Check operation of the fuel metering head flap-might be sticking. Compression test would show up a sticky valve. make sure the cold start injector is not constantly on (unplug the plug on thew valve - it is situated on the rhs of the plenum chamber and has a red fuel line running to it.
Usually is something simple with these but may also be fuel pressure/control pressure related and down to the warm up regulator (WUR for short) if you google it and have a read up on kjet fuel injection you should be able to diagnose most issues.
Bets of luck with it mate
