Hi all, I`m new to this website and forum and have already spent a few hours looking at some nice Ford pics. I need help with my newly aquired 1983 MK1 Fiesta XR2. I will post some pictures soon, but in the meantime some info please if anyone can help.
The car has come to me having already had a sympathetic restoration some 7 years ago and is standing up very well, there are a few mistakes been made though I think, (and this is only from memory of the 80`s)
I was told (by the previous owner) that bumper overiders were an optional extra in 1983 so this one hasn`t got them, is this true??, also the front quarter lights are opening ones which were also an optional extra, true??. The front number plate is mounted on the front valence and not the bumper. The lower black striping has been painted on incorrectly so that is being sorted out as we speak, (back to original colour) so I can put the proper decals on. There`s another question. Has anyone bought or fitted the XR2 decals that are available on ebay, if so are they any good???
