so oldest first lol

this one still going and been evolved fromt this when i first picked it up, would you believe i gave £400 for this tax'd and test'd and was turbo converted lol

cossie managed 2i, turbo use to glow red all them time hence the vent

crystal blue xr32 efi

look away, was a xr2 but soooooooooo rotten, got raced

Here's my XR3i, 1983, with no sunroof, which is probably what has saved it splitting in two...

Owned for 10+ years and started the restoration last November. Its very rotten!
For example:

Before

Interior is staying exactly as it was when it left the factory 55,000 miles ago though!

Work in progress

Not going for an original, standard looking resto with this one. Not going through Halfords with a guide dog either of course but I've made a few tasteful (imo) mods along the way. Deleted the spoiler as I couldn't get a decent non spoiler one locally, painted the whole lot in Mercedes Arctic White with a grey tint, standard XR3i bonnet, a set of 17s and I'm currently waiting on my Zetec Turbo engine being installed!!!

Default Sunburst XR3i

I bought this wee darling 4 months ago.
It was garaged under a cover for the last 15 years.
Replaced most of the fuel system and it now runs and looks fab.
Totally rust free and original spec.

Cheers! It's pretty bad and I've seen better scrapped but it has sentimental value so all logic goes out the window!

Well done sir. I think the wheels and front dam really suit your car.
Very tastefully done.
Sunburst is my personal fav, its gotta be the most iconic XR3 colour.

Errr... looks quite different... for a Ford. Front looks like it's an Opel Manta, back looks like it's robbed from Mercedes Benz

May aswell chuck another aussie ford up. 04 Ba XR6turbo ute.

Fully pollybushed everything, 3" turbo back with little back box hidden in the rear well. Remaped to 8-9psi and remapped auto box with triptronic controls.

Next step is 60lb injectors so i can push higher than 410.

Love the sunburst 3i's (takes me back to when i had mine) especially yours 3i-bays but would prefer it without the RS splitter. Take the front back to standard and it would be perfection.

this is how i got it

fresh respray ie nothing was removed before it was painted. the doors and bonnet also removed from another xr2 as was the gearbox. the engine pulls well but smokey on cold start up so the valve stems are on their way out.

has your mate got any pics of it?

it was the guy i got it from, must be after the guy your mate sold it to, see if he has any pics, that would be great

its nimbus grey now, a capri colour i think instead of merc grey, it will go back merc grey next year after a spot of tlc when the tax runs out in march but for now its about to get turbo'd and abused over the winter

I have had quite afew XR's in the past

My 1985 XR3i tintop which I got in January 2009, I was the 2nd owner with 58k on the clock. I have recently sold to a fellow ford nut. This is how I got it.

I gave it a good polish & changed the tailgate decal & the rear bumper. These are the results

I have also got a 1990 all white cabriolet which is getting a well deserved restoration

Quick Reply: show us ur XR's (on and frst in lol)
