Question Sapphire headlining replacement

Anyone know how to replace the headlining in a sapphire Cosworth, mines saggy so looking at getting a refurbished one. But it seems like the only way is either to remove the windscreen or rear window to slide it out is this the correct way?

It will come out of the door but you'll have to bend it, I took the windscreen out.
Also bought the material and had a go myself but although it looked ok it wasn't good enough so have dropped it at the trimmers, having it done in a dark alcantara along with the two rear panels

Remove the c pillars,Jesus handles, sunroof seal, interior light console and it will drop down once you tease back the door seals.
It then comes out the boot.
I bought material and I'm halfway through doing it myself, the material and glue is around Ł90 and is spot on for a match.
I'll post up the company details later once I find the receipt.

It can be done by taking out the rear seat and it will go through the boot without having to take out the windscreen or rear window. I had my new re -trimmed one put in by Tremona Garage and that is how they did it. I had my old one re- trimmed and the guy I sold it to also had it put in the same way. For a cost of Ł110 my old one looked brand new again and it also included the the B pillar trims.

No bother.
My son is off school I'll today so since I'm stuck inside I'm going to bring the headlining inside and tackle it today.
The side panels took about 5 hours to get all the glue and foam backing off.
Not even looked at removing the foam from the headlining, might leave it if it's well stuck.

It makes the interior look new again and well worth doing. I cleaned all the other interior cloth trim parts at the same time as its suprising how dirty they looked compared to the new headlining.

Think this might be the one

http://www.as-trim.co.uk/index.php?m...tfrsi60t3ao271

Not 100% sure but it was from this company - just message them to check.

The material was enough to do 2 roofs and I've got enough spare after doing mine that I'd happily part with for a few beers if anyone is local and in need.

As already said, comes out through the boot no drama.

The whole job is a bit of a faff but very satisfying to complete.

Still not got near mine.
The material came from seal motor trimmings and I used hl373 as that's cream and close in pattern.

I have just replaced my headlining but not fitted yet, I also removed the sunroof cassette to clean the blind as it was really dirty, but have just fitted the sunroof cassette back in and was wondering about the headlining inner seal does it fit under the sunroof cassette or in front etc that runs along the inside of the sunroof area and also holds the headlining in place?

The seal is under the sunroof holding the headlining in place.

it’s been a few since I’ve owned my sapphire and I did get the headlining re-trimmed along with the c pillars but can’t remember how the seat belt is removed from the c pillar but I know it does come out some how, unbolting it some how is how it’s done, if you can post up some pics to refresh my memory it would help

As said above on the thread it is a bit of a faff job but worth it in the end, the tricky/hard bit was removing the sunroof from the car in order to remove the sliding visor beneath the glass as mine was absolutely grotty, when removing the sunroof be sure to cover the surrounding areas on the roof panel with tape in order to stop damaging the paint work and leave tape in place when doing the re-fit I had the much needed help from a fellow member who knew what he was doing when we done mine

black does look very nice but I didn’t fancy doing the painting on the interior bits and bobs so I opted to leave mine grey, my head lining panel was removed and re-fitted through the boot
