I tried a couple of blue ones in a spare dash down the shed just to see what would happen.

They totally overwhelmed the ford green and made the dash lighting perfectly blue.

Couldn't try to see if they dimmed OK as not in the car, also would be a pain in the arse changing all the LED lights in the switches to match

I've put leds in mine to match the brighter light of the Stack rev counter I have installed in the instrument cluster. The standard bulbs looked all yellow next to the Stack, but with the leds everything is white (and still dimmable)
I believe you need bulbs type 504 and 286.

I know when i changed them in a capri from the standard 3 watt to 5 watt it screwed up the fuel and temperate gauges, i wont bore you why, but it may be worth checking, im sure you can upgrade to led's rather than incresing the wattage for extra brightness if thats what you want.
