Default Headlight issue

Hi all, last night the headlights on my sapphire cosworth went off while driving but a couple of minutes later came back on. Main beam and side lights remained working fine, any idea?

Hi,
Most likely a relay. Difficult to tell when it's working through.
Different years had very different dip beam electrical systems depending on legislation at the time, eg dimdip...
Cheers,
Gavin

Check In the fuse box. Had this happen to me and had corrosion and melting under the fuses. The damage cAme from the old cooling fan ones melting and causing havoc and damage.

Second the relay, or a loose connection.

Ok I will be checking all earth's, checked fuses Sunday night and they looked ok but will recheck. Which relay is for the headlights? Also seen on eBay rewire kits for headlights that feed directly from battery with they're own relays that use existing wiring for switching on lights.Anyone else done this.?

Relay F (yours is 2WD going by your siggy?)

Don't see the point, although checking the earths is a good thing to do and can make a big difference.

Looks to have been slight corrosion on the pins on the relay, so ive wiped all connectors clear of corrosion and lights are working perfect now.
