Air injectors are an alternative but are costly and need mapped in

Just go for an electronic boost controller, then you can have different boost settings.

Mine's packed up as well. Actuator is now set mechanically to 16 p.s.i. and connected directly to the compressor housing. Amal valve is now redundant

That's how mine is run and it works fine but I'm planning on running air injectors shortly.

Mine seems to have a dodgy electrical connection inside as I can wiggle the connector and sometimes it works and sometimes not

You can buy new plugs cheap. Try that first.

I must admit this one I only bought a year or so ago brand new. I did wonder if it could come apart but looks doubtful

When I bought my car it had a bleed valve fitted, but this year I finally took it off to fit an amalvalve. I want that the ecu can lower the boost pressure if needed, so the bleedvalve was not optimal and a separate boost controller can also not do that. Air injectors can do it, but when they fail the boost pressure goes too high. When the amalvalve breaks the boost stays low. I think last year MSD was looking at using a Mac valve to replace the amalvalve.

I've tried various manual versions, and an amal valve, but a proper electronic boost controller is the way to go.
Got a Gizzmo on mine. Easy to set up, 6 settings at hand, gain control to get boost on quiicker, and sub-£200.

Mines a Gizmo, good piece of kit for reasonable money.
