Not sure if you'll find them off the shelf. I would start with Julian Godfrey though. If anyone has them in stock they will as some of the rallycross engines run that compression ratio.

Interesting that you are going for 9.1 compression. What else are you doing with the engine and management?

I will be running that compression ratio without a restrictor. Should be nice to drive off boost as well as on. Will keep boost under 2bar throughout rev range and be running a circa 103ron fuel. I wouldn't like to try it on pump fuel but people have.

Yours will be mental anyway. Personally i would have it mapped on V power to see first. Can you have 2 maps to switch between fuels?

Will probably do a v power plus power pour map. Apparently it works wonders.

Can have multi maps with the MOTEC ecu.

You mean spraying or as fuel?
It doesn't necessarily bring temps down, it just has a higher octane rating.

Mix it with water and it has a effect but use knock control.

Yeah just to gain a higher octane.

103 fuel is expensive

Have you looked at power pour? MSD are selling it. If you read the various tests they reckon at the higher mix rate with v power it will give you an octane rating of 103.

Or buy Sunoco MaxNos and do a 70/30 vpower / MaxNos mix.

Max nos mixes particularly well with pump fuel.

Would have to be mapped on this and not driven without the race fuel.

All depends on how many miles you do? I see race fuel as a cheap engine protector but I do bu**er all mileage. Also depends on if you want to use the car for competition as well.

If mapped correctly and to the max each fuel will give never is safer.

Of course you're right if things are taken right up to the line and backed off a bit all fuels are as safe as each other.
However if you have a conservative power goal with a higher octane fuel there is a bit more, how shall I say, margin???
I could have water meth injection but I figure my car already has four injectors that will be mapped perfectly to the car. Why add another failure point?
That's why I've done away with water to air intercooling.

Sorry for thread hijack op

Out of interest if your had a car mapped on v power say and then You decided to run a higher octane fuel (103 ron, etc), or add something to the v power to make it a higher octane would you gain more power in the cars current state/setup?

Or would it need mapping and boost adjusting to suit the new fuel to get that extra power?

Cheers Paul

You would need to advance the ignition to see any benefit
