Default rebuilt engine running mega rich

Hi

Ive just started my freshly rebuilt engine in my 2wd cosworth, which has all new genuine sensors, new loom running l8 ecu, sieman 83lb injectors , 044 fuel pump and loom etc.

Its running mega rich pumping out black smoke.

Has anyone got any ideas?
Should the 044 fuel pump prime every time engine is started?

Cheers
Mark

Hi,
Check there's no fuel coming out of the vacuum pipe on the pressure regulator.
Also check the wiring between the ecu and the coolant temp sensor.
Have you got the right TPS wired up correctly for the L8?
Cheers,
Gavin

We could all give you something to look at and you could be lucky.

My advise is take it to a cossie specialist before you bore wash your new engine build......

I agree, give it to one of the old and the bold and get it properly sorted.'If you add a location to your profile we can recommend a few. My recommendation is MA Developments, Mark Shead

Hi guys thanks for replys.

Ive been looking into this issue, went to start the car tonight and there is no power to fuel pump from relay.
Ive tried new relay no volts
Ive connected pump direct to battery ok.
Ive checked for feed behind ecu no volts.

I disconected the ecu and bridged out pins 1 + 10 and 19 +28 switched on ign and pump primes.

Reconnect ecu pump wont prime.

Disconted injectors and crank sensor, reconnected ecu pump now primes. Connect crank sensor and pump wont prime again

Has anyone got any ideas on what to do next

Cheers
Mark
