I don't agree with simply changing parts, it rarely works.
Methodical diagnosis works if you know the system, sadly remote diag is extremely difficult.
I dont really understand your logic,it is a simple cure for an annoying common problem. The right sensor put in and the job is done. It is not rocket science which needs methodical diagnosis.
Same here, new sender brought from Burton Power. It's a bit annoying.
Hi Nemo, if that is a recent photo of your temperature gauge there is nothing wrong with it, that is where it should be sitting. A new temp sesor will give just the same reading. When mine became faulty it was right up into the red section when just driving normally.
The new sensor is fitted (green ring) and the needle of the gauge is now perfectly horizontal!
BTW, the sensor that gave the high reading was with a black ring.
Hi Richard, seems Marc's reading on the temp gauge resumed perfectly horizontal having received your (green ring) sensor. That's something that my current sensor from Burton Power doesn't do and annoys me
