Default Fuel pump rewire

I have purchased a new wiring loom for the fuel pump, my question is what do you do with the the old wiring as surely it will still have power going to it?

What would you be connecting the new loom to then?

I think the new loom connects direct to the battery, then runs through the car to the fuel pump if I'm right

I really don't have any first hand experience with the rewire kit you can buy but I would expect they use the original pump wiring to energise (turn on) the new relays coil which then supplies a good voltage direct from the battery via the relay contacts to the pump. Therefore in answer to your question the original wiring is still used and terminates to one of the relay terminals.

Correct the black with red trace will now be your trigger for the relay.

David is correct, you use the original relay as a trigger for the new one, and the supply to pump comes from the battery.

Don't forget to check the pump ground as well!
