Differences 4x4 and RWD Boot lid
Need to replace the boot lid on my 4x4 cosworth and I have one off a 2wd. I see the shape of the hole for the lock is different and they have different bumper rubbers. Anyone know what else might be different and is the spoiler definitely exactly the same. Can I put the lock from my boot into it. Thanks David

depending on what you want to do it is a direct swap other than some issues with the locks
they "should" fit but some don't and need some metal removing
the pre 89 cars had push button boot releases whilst the 90 spec cars had the internal remote cable release
the shape of the locks "should" fit the same holes in the same bootlid as they are all the same, however the laters ones were supposed to have more metal in there to stop them from being so easily broken into by simply smashing a lump hammer into the lock

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
As above just the lock that's different and the badges of course, rwd had a better lock and badges.
Leave your keys in the 4x4 boot then shut it and find out : /

Thanks for the replys. Any idea why they changed the rubber bumpers. I think from memory the hole it screws into is a different size so not so easy to just swap them over. Also think the 4x4 one may be longer - will need to check when I am home - which suggest something different in the gap at this point. (only going from memory here - may be wrong) cheers David
