Default Rev counter not working

Original clocks Rev counter doesn't work but the replacement one does, can anybody tell me what to look at as I would like to put back the original clocks as the mileage is different?

I have done this with my spare clocks and it is very easy, but now I am stuck with how do I remove the clocks from the dashboard to swap it over?

What year is the car? 89 spec is easy, 90 spec cars, just as easy, 92 spec car proper pain in the arse

Steering cover off
4 screws for the dash surround
4 screws for the instrument cluster
Then struggle to unclip the speedo cable
Easy to do the rest
92 spec cars are way different and if it's not find right you'll break the surround and never get it right again

they might be under some covers

they should just pop off or there are little caps on them and then the covers are screwed on

either side of the column underneath the little blanks (or the dash illumination/wiper motor intermitant speed)
