Default How much pay for used gaz gold

I've a mate who is selling a set of gaz gold coilovers for cosworth 4wd which have around 500mi of use in one year, are virtually new. He is going to fit a set of bilstein as wants a softer suspension..
New on burtons cost near 900 pounds (a little more with shipping), this guy sell them to me on 700.. Do you think is worth? I dont know how much they usually cost..

I have to change my current bilsteins as they are old and little damaged in the front so this could be an option

700 seems a bit steep for a used set. 600 would be iffy, unless you knew first hand how they were handled for a year, or got to try the car and check for leaks.
Seems strange to change them for Bilsteins, as at least I found good coilovers are actually more comfortable on the road, in addition to being trackworthy.
I thought GAZ Gold was comparable to AVO GTZ which I had, so it should just be a matter of setting the stiffness, unless there's something wrong.
Well, hopefully not directly comparable, as AVO's lost the silly plastic lock-screws and started leaking in about 6 months of use...

Yes, this man before buying the gaz gold had avo and hated them, I'm afraid that he can have too much stiff springs, they are not expensive so I can buy a softer set if I found this too much stiff and play with them.

Another friend had a set of avo on a 2rm cosworth and was a pain to drive it on road (and dangerous, loosing traction on every bump), now he has installed them on a drift sierra and is ok for that use, but I don't want this for road.
Time ago I went with another mate that have a set of gaz gold and I liked it a lot, stiff but still capable of being driven on broken roads, so that's the reason I'm interested on those.

I will check what you say (leaks, rust..), this man is trustly for me but is worth checking well the coilovers as is not cheap. If they were good handled with only 500 mi of use (not rally or car stored near sea), should be like new.
