Hi, does anyone know if Escort Cosworth front hub flanges are the same as that on the 4x4 Sapphire Cosworth?

Same, i've had saph hubs on my escort and it made 0 differance to any of the alignment etc

I had the complete hubs, but i'm sure that they are the exact same flanges as well

The hubs are different were the brake mounting is i had some sapp ones done(front bells and brkts for my brembos) by martin hadland and while they were being done i refurbed my esc hubs and bearing when fitting the kit when it arrived i found the offset for the brake mounts to be different

You sure it wasnt xr4x4 you had?
They have the brake mount offest differant
But my calipers fitted straight onto the saph hubs

the cos hubs i've had have all been the same

the flanges are the same too

just be aware that the xr versions had 2 different offsets and aren't interchangeable from the hub perspective but the flanges are the same

get a microcat confirmation though

Sapphire Cos 4x4 and Escort Cos 4x4 are identical

Escort and Sierra Cosworth 4x4 hubs and drive flanges are identical, if I made a kit for a 4x4 then it would fit either car wheels permitting. Are you sure you didnt bend the hub legs when pressing in the new bearings?

he's said the offsets were different, which would most likely mean that he's been sold a set of xr hubs masquerading as cossie items

if you don't have the eye for the detail, at lets be honest, other than those people who live cosworth, you would be hard pressed as an average punter to know the difference if you didn't have the item you needed in your hand to compare against

i made that mistake a few times and eventually i discovered that there was, from memory, 8mm difference between the 2wd and 4wd version, with the v6 xr hubs coming in at 4mm in the middle and the dohc hubs having a 1.5mm difference compared to the normal 2wd offset

this was 15 years ago so my numbers might be out a bit

I had both xr & cos hubs a few years ago, and they did indeed need to be side by side to tell the difference. Easy to see when the brake disc is on of course, but bugger all difference to the naked eye otherwise D:

BTW, it's not only the brake disc offset that is different between the XR and cosworth hub. The connection to the TCA is also in a lower position on the cosworth hub, giving a better roll centre than the XR hub.

Turns out there xr hubs and were supplied by a cosworth breaker !!!
