Default ABS light turns on when indicating right???

I have a strange problem with the Saff.

As above, the ABS light turns on when indicating right??? It goes off again when the indicator is turned off. Only happens indicating right, not left.

I've checked all connections at the back of the clock cluster and they seem fine.

Reading on here, it could be a bad earth or the clock PCB could have a bad track/bad pad or connection.

Or maybe someone has seen this before and it's an easy fix!

Any ideas please?

Cheers.

Philip.

With the ABS light you mean the orange light? That would be a bit strange as the light and the cable to it are completely separate from the rest of the clocks and wiring. So it would really need to be damaged wiring on both the ABS light and indicator signal.

The red light could be caused by bad connections I guess, as it is part of the wiring and clocks.

Yes the orange light in the middle of the clocks. Not the red light.

Just a thought, could it be the cluster seal inside might have perished on that one side and when you indicate, back light is going through?

My ABS light looks likes its on slighty at night, but as Jack says it's light bleeding through from the rest of the clocks making it look like it's on.

No it isn't light leakage. I indicate right, then the orange ABS light in the middle of the clocks comes on.

I turn indicator off, then I can hear a relay click behind the clocks and after the click, the ABS light turns off. I made sure the connector is pushed in correctly to the relay.

Any ideas, maybe with the info about the relay click and then the light goes off?

By the way the ABS works as it should and the light goes out after ignition as it should.

EDIT: Just seen your post Paul, it isn't leakage as I have the same thing as you when it's dark. i.e There is a small glow behind the ABS, light leakage. This is not the problem. The relay can clearly be heard clicking once and then the light goes off.

Have you checked all the indicator bulbs to see if they all come on when you indicate right? How is the interval of the right flash as opposed to the left flash?

Cheers

Yes all indicators bulbs come on. Front, rear and small repeater. Interval is same on left as on right.

Any idea what the relay is?

Are you referring to these 2 relays located on the steering column frame?

I know the one relay is for buzzer if you leave lights on with key in ignition and car door is open

The other could be for indicators. Maybe if you have a spare swap it out to check?

Or consult with wiring diagram?

Cheers

Thanks for that. I didn't mean those 2 relays and to be honest I forgot they were there! It's about 2 years since it was built and don't think I put the steering column part together. Think it was my mate.

The relay I was referring to is actually physically behind the clocks. Not 100% if it's there from factory but I believe it is so we just left it alone at the time of the build. Still though, I think it's this relay in question that is clicking...so until I check it again, I'll have an update.
