Default complete cosworth engine whats it worth

I am testing the water with this.

I am thinking of putting a Duratec into my MK1 escort and getting rid of the YB cosworth that I am running at the moment.

I have no idea of the value of the engine.
205 BLOCK WHICH WAS REBUILT 3 YEARS AGO ( I HAVE SEEN A RECEIPT FOR THE RINGS WHICH WERE STANDARD BORE SO BLOCK COULD BE ON FIRST REBORE.
IT WAS FRESHENED UP 18 MONTHS AGO AND WAS HONED.
USES NO OIL OR WATER
BIG WING GATED AND BAFFLED SUMP.
BLOCK PAINTED BLACK CRANK IS .5 OVER.
NEW OIL PUMP ( ENGINE WAS IMMACULATE INSIDE)
POLISHED PORTS ( NOT BEEN PORTED )
NEW TURBO FROM CR TURBOS
PLENUM SPACER
NEW ALTERNATOR
POLISHED CAM COVER
NEW WIRING LOOM
ALL NEW SENSORS
NEW WATER PUMP
NEW COIL LEADS
SFS 5 PLY BOOST HOSES
3 PLY WTAER HOSES
SIEMENS 55LB INJECTORS
L6 ECU WITH HARVEY GIBBS CHIP
ENGINE IS ESTIMATED APPROX 380 BHP
STARTS LOVELY, DOES HAVE A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF PISTON SLAP WITH GOES AFTER 20-30 SECONDS THEN ITS SUPER QUIET.
ENGINE IS COMPLETELY DRY NO OIL LEAKS.
HAD 3 SERVICES IN THIS TIME RUNNING TITAN PRO OIL.
I HAVE MISSED LOADS OF LITTLE BITS BUT YOU GET THE IDEA....

What do you think its worth
I have also the full radtec radiator / intercooler
rebuilt T5 with AP clutch.
Engine has done about 1500 miles since freshen up.

Many thanks

I was thinking £2.5k to £5k based on prices I have seen before, of course people want the lowest offer accepted and sellers want the highest prices so I think they vary a lot based on how much people want / need to sell.

defo not 5k as someone has said above.

More like 2-2.5k.

You can get 200 block engines for 2.5-3k lol

It has got a lot of new bits and not just a bare engine though. Ideally it would be a 200 block though...agreed.

As for the swap I can see that a good 300 bhp atmo duratec would suit an escort mk 1 or 2 well....also could be used in lower groups for sporting events.

No not at all scared of the power, just testing the water to see if it is a worth while conversion.

I fancy Duratec simply for the old skool sound. I know it will be way down on power from the cossie and may get bored after a while.

But to be honest think I will keep the cossie in there, certainly not selling it for £2.5k

I may add some more bits to the engine later this year and upgrade to L8

The thing is your car is well sorted as it is, loads of people would love to have a Mk 1 cossy engined Escort, keep enjoying it!

Duratec turbos can produce monster power, so ignore the above comment!

I would upgrade to standalone modern ecu instead of L8 and then if the budget allows the small Borg turbo and twin scroll manifold.

WOW, that is a jaw dropper. Your initial thread did not suggest that the engine was clinically clean and beautifully presented. That is a credit to you and perfect in my eyes. I wouldn't change anything other than to my name on the log book.

Tim, just on the ever so slight offchance that you do decide to go Duratec, I'd love to take the Radtec cooler/rad off your hands.... Trying to find a used one is turning out to be nigh on impossible!
