Can vouch for these guys and their products. They're made for a 7.5" diff though, not a 7" as a heads up.

That was the first option I thought about but dont like the idea of a cheap clutch type LSD. Also I cant find any good reviews how the Eaton diffs are set up in terms of ramp angles and if they can be serviced, as the friction plates are service items.
For ZF I know I can still get all service items cheap and local and its works fine in 2 of my mates cars.

Does anyone of you have a Eaton Diff fitted?

Any words on how it works? Do you go out on track with it or fast road drivin?
Thanks!

Problem you still have is if you have a lot of torque the c.w.p still won't last

Thanks!
To fit the Eaton diff a spacer for ring gear is needed..and the diff housing must be machined or ground on..making it thinner.
Spacer for the ring gear is not unheard of...I used one on a Saab gearbox we were using for rally and fitting a 5.15:1 final drive..
It was ground flat both sides...Despite repeated questions about the spacer, those guys selling this refuse to answer how their spacer is made..
Second;
Eaton is a 2 pinion diff--2 side gears, 2 pinions or planets....unlike all the ZF (and Gripper and Tran-X) I have seen in last 30 years.
Next: no pressure rings so no ramps at all, nothing..Only some spring pressure...

That makes it unacceptable in my book, especially at the price.

Finally there have been several outright failures with these...
And naturally not a word of post-failure analysis...

Vorsicht, junge!

Thanks for the explanation! I always thought the Eaton unit looked kinda cheap compared to the ZF units used for BMWs etc. This now exactly explains why!

I am now gonna get a reworked BMW ZF diff and make it fit into the original Ford 7,5" housing.
