Default AS breather

Anyone using a Auto Specialist breather on a YB, I have one in my Cortina but It doesn't seam to cope very well returning oil to the sump, I end up with a bit more oil in the catch tank than I hopped the only way the oil can end up getting to the catch tank is if the level in the breather can gets higher than the baffle, so its ether down to the smaller diameter/capacity breather can AS seam to use or the size of the oil return to sump pipe this also seams small I think about 10mm.

Anyone else experienced problems with them also how much oil would you expect to pass through the breather and get to the catch, after a bit of road testing a four runs up the strip I guess I had about 200ml in the catch tank.
