Default RS500 Bumper

I've been considering purchasing a RS500 bumper for some time, prices seem to have been very strong for a while now and don't look to be dropping.

People may have seen the damaged bumper on eBay, well at £1000 with a genuine splitter I thought was worth a punt as the splitter alone must be worth £600/£700 on the right day.

Collected it today and turns out it was so much better than the photos looked. So much so that 1 hour with a heat gun and I would say it's 95% there.

Chuffed is an understatement. Funny how a £1000 bumper somehow feels like a bargain!

Genuine RS500 bumpers are very few and far between, if you've picked up a genuine factory one it will be stamped with ford logos on the back, Brooklyn ones are more common and were commissioned by ford but won't have logos on, few differences too but you wouldn't tell when fitted, although not factory they are still fetching similar money and most people would have no idea, sounds like although the price is rediculous you got a good deal anyway.

Brooklyn were official really though weren't they? Ford dealers changed a few bumpers as the early ones became more brittle I seem to recall? Later ones deffo had more flex if mine are anything to go on?

I will have a look next time I'm in the unit but for me wouldnt matter either way Brooklyn or Ford as it's going on a 3door. Just think the 500 bumper with the grills looks mean.

good work - i bought a genuine std 3dr bumper and that is caved in on the corner and would need to do something similar as what you just did - not happy when you have paid good money for a "good condition" bumper and then get palmed off with this

If the long aluminium backing panel on the bumper is damaged I have a virtually new one here if in need. The owner of yours was planning to buy it off me.
