Default Hydraulic clutch conversions?

Does anyone on here have a hydraulic clutch conversion? I'm really struggling with the AP 6 paddle clutch in my car, and wondered will a hydraulic conversion solve the problem of the very heavy clutch pedal? The only kit I can find is the Reyland one, as it's 2wd it says I need the bellhousing mod as well so I'm looking at 450 in parts and then labour to fit it. Is there any other kits about and does anyone have an idea how long it would take to fit for a decent mechanic?

Cheers Rich

I'm just doing this now. It's easy on a 4x4. And needs a little welding or s plate made up for the t5

I got a master cylinder from burtons .700 gerling non integral one removed the rachet of the pedal and used the pin to go through a rose joint made a plate up to fit to the bulk head.

On the gear box I'm fitting a slave cylinder from a e30 bmw ther Cheep as on eBay but I spent a little extra to get a better quality one

It's only 3 8mm holes and a few nuts and bolts and I'm just looking at the clutch fork now

The piping is 7/16 unf feed to the master cylinder and 3/8 unf out the master cylinder is 10mm metric I'm ordering -3 hose and fittings tonight

I hope some of my rambling helps

Perfect

The only bits I need are the actual slave and master cylinder now.

I looked at the AP master cylinder but at £130 they can keep it.

Ill go for a girling one.

What slave cylinder did you go for if you don't mind me asking? As I can only find cheap and nasty ones.

Thanks!

Think I used a landrover master cylinder and a mondeo 1.8 slave, whole lot cost less than £100, no need to pay stupid money

There's a company that sells all the bits on eBay bar the plate for the bulkhead for £200.

As said you have to mod the 2wd box, my car is stripped at mo so makes life a lot easier lol, if you search google images you can see what needs doing to the box

Does anyone have any idea where or how to make one of these?

Looks like a bit of aluminium rounded down in the middle to weld onto the clutch fork

Do you have a link to the ebay listing as I have had a look but can't see it?

Cheers

You should get the Slave that I posted today along with the weld on boss and the 2 bolts for the slave.

Does anyone know if the Land Rover series 2 master cylinder people use is compatible with the slave cylinder in the Reyland kit? It looks very similar.
