Max BHP on a 60mm I/C

Different turbos produce different amounts of heat, a T34 flat out will be much hotter than a T4 running low boost so the amount of bhp the intercooler could support would be quite different, the way the engine is mapped would cause the same i.e. amount of boost etc....the core is key too plus restrictions in air flow to the cooler and through the pipework.
People will have run over 600 bhp through them but the intake temps might be high and therefore more boost may be needed for the power which adds more heat etc.
I believe a lot of people think the smaller spec R or other garret cored coolers are the best.

I have a AS 60mm I/C i belive these are bar type construction, currently runnig t34 .48 @ 30psi, next step was to move up to a T38/gt30 for mid to late 400 bhp.
To chage the cooler in my car is not realy practical would require alot of modification not something i wanted to do.

Its a decreasing amount based on outside temp and type of set up, But for me in the real world 330hp after that its a waste of money and effort if you are running anything about that,
It has alwaysed amazed me people spend 10k on a 500hp set up and kill it by running a £300 intercooler.

Its not about the money its the practicability of fitting something different in the car as it was built around this inter cooler, If I really had to it could be changed but this would require cutting and welding on new mounts re mounting the rad etc. and re painting it all something I would like to avoid if I could.
just trying to get a rough Idea of what's needed when moving up to the next stage of tune, currently running a t34 .48 pretty flat out so when it go's pop I would like to take it up to the mid 400 mark.

cossie fan (unluckerly)
I was lucky I got my spec-r cooler second hand with the turbo cooler and spec-r dump valve for 800 and it had done hardly any miles. Really nice bit of kit but was a Fooker to fit lol had to make some brackets up as well to mount my rad after

I run a airtec in my saff at around 370 bhp on a t34/48 with intake temps about 26 degrees that was on tuesday running 30psi.
My mk3 cortina was running a 4x4.cossie cooler due to space restrictions at around 360 on greys with no noticeable high act's as seen on the secs monitor.
Tbh what u have will be fine and as Mark's suggested make sure the air flow goes thru cooler.and not around the sides.

Cooler is boxed in down the sides so air can only go through it, running similar hp to your saff so would expect inlet temps to be similar.

efficiency aside, if the cooler core is restrictive, you'd most likely find your turbo is actually pushing much more than 30psi and throwing hotter air into the cooler than it would if you had a less restrictive I/C.
a more efficient, less restrictive I/C will give you more power and allow you not to push the turbo harder than it needs to.
