Default Anyone know this saph?

Evening, anyone know this car or anything about it? Had a look on google but really just the same info in the ad comes up.Seems cheap for only having 30k on it?

Looks good in the pics and would be just the thing for me if it's as good as it sounds.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1988-FORD-...item25a37b8ab9

Any help appreciated

Maybe realistically priced to sell??
Needs a little work according to advert.
Could be good investment

Steven, compared to a lot of Sapphires that come up for sale this does look like a genuine car at a very low price. If I didnt already own a cracking 2wd it would certainly be one that I would buy, but you need to see it and drive it to make sure it is as good as the advert says.

Bit difficult for you. Have you tried to speak to him on the phone as I would have thought youd get a reply pretty quickly. Looks like one that you may regret not getting if you cant contact him soon.

Yeah spoke to him just now,if it wasn't for the fact we're flying to Spain on Monday I'd be away tomorrow to get it.

Pretty sure the wife would kill me if I cancelled the holiday for an old Sierra.Just got to hope and pray it's still there next week now unless I can find someone to go and get it for me,that's doubtful though.

Nearly bought a mk1 Focus RS this week but something told me no this one's not for you,I know that something was this car now.

I'm sure that car used to be owned by someone up my way a good few years ago, looks fresh in the pics, but only a real viewing will confirm it all though.

Well if it's the same car it's going to be living in the north again from tuesday/wednesday.Fired a deposit on it before we left for Spain and it's getting delivered to Inverness when we get back.Delighted to be a Cosworth owner (nearly) at long last

I took a chance and bought blind.Risky yes but it's worked out well before so it's a chance I'm willing to take.

What's the worst that can happen?

You dont have to justify what you have done to anyone on this forum, its up to you and I am sure from the photos and description of the car you will not be disappointed when you get it.

Can't wait to get it,only downside is that the Subaru has to go to make way for a Focus ST for her.I've made out I'll be very disappointed but the thought of a white Focus beside the white Sierra is quite appealing now

It's a bit of a handful after having the Impreza, love it though.

Few wee bits to do to get it how I want it but won't take long.

Hi Steven, my son has got a 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX STI which we have done some modifications on, including coilovers all round and the ride in it is just as harsh as my 2wd Saff. Being permanent 4wd is of course much better in the wet but in the dry a sorted Saff should handle pretty well.
It will take a bit of getting used to after your Subaru but hope you get a lot of pleasure out of it.
Keep us posted.
Cheers Richard.

Yeah it's a beauty.Few very small bits to tidy up but nothing to worry about at the moment.

It was a genuine car advertised by a genuine guy.I never got to meet him but he was as helpful as I could have asked for.If you're in here, thank you Sam.

The new mongooses system arrived for it today so hopefully get it fitted over the weekend before the first show up here on Sunday

It's not a bad old bus,bit smokey now and then but I went into Cosworth ownership with eyes wide open so I'm not too fussed if it needs a bit of work.Hopefully get it looked at through the week before it goes on the RSOC stand at Knockhill next weekend.

Subaru is getting traded in on Sunday for a Mondeo so I'll have plenty time to play about with this thing now instead of playing with other toys

Hey, do you have a link with more details about what is going on at knockhill? I assume this is ford live? I'm clearly having a blonde moment with my googling skills...

Edit:
I've just seen that ford live is 30th August...

Annoyingly I've full booked jobs in for both sat and sun next weekend... Especially as I've got an Impreza as well as the Cosworth so this sounds right up my street!

This makes up for that though
