Tremec TKO 600 mods required?
As above, what mods are required to fit a TKO600 into a 2WD saph?
I already have:
Bell housing converted to a T5
Clutch plate
Brass spigot bearing.
Gear box cradle.
What i am wondering is what do you do about the gear stick? I belive the stick will sit about 50mm further forward, now do you need to trim the tunnel or is there anything else that can be done? Like having a special gear stick made or machining the housing?

I don't fancy spending nearly Ł500 modding the box, I would get the grinder out on the tunnel first.
Rod did you just move the whole consol forward 34mm? Did you need to open the hole up in the tunnel and then re fix for the gaiter surround? I guess you needed to trim the front a little when you moved it then just make some brackets to refix it?

The hole in the Tunnel was modded with a new metal plate that moved the hole forward as required, think I riveted it in place but its 16 years ago. The front was trimmed to go under the centre console. It was not hard to do & looks stock. Yes basically all I did was move it forward 34mm & take it from there to see what was required. No big problems.

I believe you can move the engine about 40mm further back. There are holes already drilled for the engine mounts. Thats what I´m doing.

Not sure how much further forwards a TKO 600 sits than stock, but I got away with a very small amount of trimming on the hole in the tunnel and a cranked lever from MGW with a T56

Its just the same as a T5 on the road, just stronger. Tremec = Borg Warner.
It has different splines (and diameters) on both input and output shaft, so you need a new clutch disc and a new "tail shaft". If you use a standard shaft this will have to be shortened and fitted with a new yoke.

That depends on what Tyre sizes & Diff you use its overall gearing that matters not your 5th gear ratio. If you require this box you are going to be changing the Diff as well im sure as they are even weaker than the T5.
the 3.8% difference in 5th gear between the T5 & Tremec does not really matter just get the overall gearing of Tyres/Diff & 5th gear to where you want it.

Hoping what was stronger a Tremec over a T5. The Tremec in mine has lasted 16 years without a problem. Was running 900+bhp on the gas back in the day without a prob. Torque would have been over 750ft-lb. I destroyed the T5 in a few miles with 500bhp/490 ft-lb you simply cant compare the two for strength.
