3dr tailgate wiring
So I want yo get my 3 Dr up on the spit this weekend and need to get the tailgate off, question is how do I disconnect the wiring? I see there is a plug break down in the rear quarters near the lights but I can't see me ever getting the loom fed back up through the body when I want yo put it all back together. I'm tempted to cut the loom both sides and carefully repair it when I put it all back together but this is a bit of a last resort! It doesn't help that some clown has stuck sound deadening sheets all over the place including the roof and c pillars so I'm hoping there is another set of plugs I can't see yet! Any help really welcome! Thanks, John

I did the same late last night, looked and looked but couldn't see a better way of doing it. To be fair with the sunroof drip tubes removed it should be a bit easier, not so something I'm looking forward to doing tho!

hi mate
pull the wire from the tailgate and gently pull trough the grommets to remove the grometts. Once your that far tape a piece of string to the wires and push them into the body. leave the string close to the hole so easy to pick back out.
When refitting use a piece of welding wire to push through the tailgate to pull the wires back up.
hope this helps

Shit I didn't think of that, I'll have to try and feed something back down to pull the wires back through. Good idea tho I'll have to remember that for next time! Cheers
